Portraits of Lions

Lions have always fascinated me, even though I am more of a dog person.

They are the king and queen of cats, but just how true that is will not become clear until one sees them in the wild. Their immense power is staggering and when coupled with their infinite air of nobleness, it is evident what a remarkable animal the lion is.

These photos were shot 2005 in Masai Mara, Kenya, and Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania.
