Abstract
Actually, I am not sure that ‘abstract’ is the right term for these images because it means to separate or remove from something else, to reduce. But I imagine that there may be many kinds of abstract art.
For instance there is that which takes a scene and reduces it to the least component parts needed to understand or ‘see’ the scene. And there is that which, by focusing on certain aspects of a scene seeks to give the viewer a broader more general idea of what that scene is. I guess another kind of abstract is that which simply treats the things which make up reality as fields and forms and attempts to show how they relate to each other.
I’m sure there are many other kinds as well, but all this to say that I’m often drawn to abstract scenes and feel compelled to photograph them.
